Privacy Policy
Effective date: 26 March 2026
Tucheze Charades (“the Game”) is developed and operated by Kanga Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we process it, and how you can exercise your rights.
1. Accounts & Identity
1.1 Guest Mode
When you first open the app, a guest account is created automatically with a random display name. No personal information is required.
1.2 Google Sign-In (Optional)
You may optionally link your account with Google. When you do, Google provides us with:
- Google account ID — used to identify your account across sign-ins
- Email address — stored securely, never displayed publicly
- Display name — shown on the leaderboard
- Profile picture URL — shown on the leaderboard and in your settings
Your Google password is never shared with us. Authentication is handled entirely by Google’s servers using industry-standard protocols.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Game Data
When you play, we record:
- Which deck you selected and its difficulty level
- Round duration
- Number of words guessed correctly and passed
- Your score per round and cumulative score
- Timestamps for each game session
This data powers the leaderboard and helps us improve game balance.
2.2 On-Device Storage
The Game stores the following data locally on your device:
| Item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Authentication tokens | Keep you signed in between app launches |
| Settings (volume, tilt, round time) | Remember your preferences locally |
| Offline word decks | Allow gameplay without network access |
2.3 Sensors
The Game uses your device’s accelerometer to detect tilt gestures. Sensor data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
3. Analytics & Crash Reporting
3.1 Firebase Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the Game is used. Firebase collects standard metrics such as session duration, device model, OS version, and country. We do not link analytics data to your personal identity. You can opt out by disabling analytics in your device settings.
3.2 Crash Reporting
We use a crash-reporting service to detect and fix errors. When a crash occurs, the following may be captured:
- Error message
- Device model and operating system
- IP address (used for grouping, auto-deleted after 90 days)
4. Leaderboard Visibility
If you appear in the top 100, other players can see your display name, avatar (if set), score, and rank. Your email address is never shown publicly.
5. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted authentication tokens with short expiry windows
- Rate limiting on all API endpoints
- All traffic encrypted in transit
- Regular security reviews
6. Data Retention
| Data category | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Match history | Retained while your account is active |
| Leaderboard entry | Until you delete your account |
| Temporary game sessions | Automatically deleted after a short period |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
| Firebase Analytics | Per Google’s retention policy (default 14 months) |
7. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account:
- Your personal information (email, name, avatar, Google link) is permanently removed.
- Your leaderboard entry is deleted.
- All active sessions are immediately invalidated.

8. Children’s Privacy
Tucheze Charades is a family-friendly party game. Guest mode does not collect any personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data through Google Sign-In, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. International Data Processing
Our servers are hosted in Africa. If you access the Game from outside this region, your data may be transferred to and processed there. By using the Game, you consent to this transfer.
